This modern, prestigious automotive company produces a range of engines in arguably the most sophisticated plant in Europe.
Through repeated tests over two years, it was found that there were significant signs of oil mist problems evident in this new plant. The tests indicated a poor performance of the existing oil mist filtration system.
Scandfilter were asked to provide a complete turnkey solution using a bespoke ScandMist design. This involved retaining parts of the existing filtration system, as much as possible of the ducting, and incorporating both into the replacement ScandMist system, made-up of floor mounted, elevated and basement multi-unit bespoke systems.
The whole turnkey had to be started and completed as fast as possible, whilst ensuring no down time of engine production. This was made possible by manufacturing the ScandMist bespoke systems in batches, and dispatching at pre-set times. The installation adopted a flexible schedule of installing around the shift changeover times; early and late mornings, early and late afternoons and early and late evenings. The net result was no effect to the production schedule.
Currently, the complete system is monitored on a monthly basis, with exceptional results; the efficiency of the ScandMist filter technology is on average over 90% better than the previous filtration system. The management and workforce have been delighted with the ScandMist effect and sister manufacturing plants in mainland Europe are now looking to trial ScandMist technology.
